Do you ever feel like you’re getting dumber by the second? Because I sure do!! When I was a little kid, I felt like I had a solid functioning head on my body. But in recent years, I feel like the functionality of said head has become quite questionable to say the least.
Like recently, I’ll be talking to someone and we’ll be conversing just fine. They yap a little and I yap back — all the typical conversation shenanigans. Then all of a sudden, my brain just?? stops?? registering what they’re saying?? The last time I checked they were definitely speaking coherent English so why did my brain go from “Yup english be english-ing” to “What the gibberish?” I’m not even learning another language 😭😭 why did my english comprehension just go *thanos snap*?
But then again, I’ve always been a lil silly. I remember in the past, I went on a field trip to the Museum of Natural History with my elementary school class (disclaimer: I went there quite a few times before this trip so it wasn’t the first time I’ve been to a museum) and as the museum worker talked to us, I forgot that I was at a museum. I moved my head closer to the display because I wanted to take a closer look and *thunk* my head hit the glass. Luckily, it wasn’t a super loud thunk but it still hurt …
As I wrote that, I recalled another not-so-smart idea I had as a kid. At the time, I didn’t know how to tie my hair into a ponytail. Some strands of my hair had come loose after yard time and were swaying in my line of sight. I swept it back for a period of time before I lost my patience and decided to take matters into my own hands. Now, a normal person would assume that I would attempt to retie my hair. But no! I had the splendid idea of taking a kiddy scissor and going snip snap. Problem solved! Surprisingly, I didn’t get yelled at (it wasn’t too much hair) but in hindsight, cutting off my hair should’ve been a last resort.
Anyways! I still stand by the fact that I’m getting dumber but maybe I was dumb from the start 😦
